Helps Dunkin’ Put Marriage On The Menu on Valentine’s Day

Date: Tuesday 23rd February, 2021

Innovative Aussie wedding business, “I Do Drive Thru” which launched back in Melbourne’s Lockdown 1.0, hit the big time this Valentine’s Day. The start-up has teamed up with Dunkin’ (previously Dunkin’ Donuts), just 9 months after they hit the ground running.

The elopement business, which offers ‘Vegas-Vibed’ and socially distanced (car based) wedding packages has proven to be an industry game changer, after quickly launching through all states in Australia, by catering to the COVID-19 wedding market, then spreading rapidly across the pond to the USA, to an industry decimated after restrictions led to mass matrimony cancellations and instability.

In a time when so many couples have had to reimagine their wedding plans, Dunkin’ teamed up with I Do Drive Thru to put ‘love on the menu’ giving their New York fans the chance to win a unique wedding experience with a Dunkin’ twist!

Two lucky winners were legally wed in the Town of Wallkill, New York on 12th February, by I Do Drive Thru Officiant, Eric Strauss of NYC.

Dana Shulman and Giancarlo Osaben, loyal Dunkin’ followers were thrilled to win the contest and say ‘I Do’ at the drive thru, alongside Brian Dinsmore and Selena Stallmer.

About I Do Drive Thru

I Do Drive Thru, with the tagline, “Would you like vows with that?” was dreamt up by Mel Jacob, Celebrant and Entrepreneur, as a way to keep working under the lockdown restrictions in Melbourne.

Mel Jacob said “Even in a time of uncertainty love still exists and people still need to celebrate. There is still every reason to commit to marriage. Imagine looking back on times of COVID with the fond memory of getting married in this unique way, then having the big celebration with family and friends to look forward to, down the track.”

Celebrants, Kate Morgan, Klara McMurray and Zena Lythgo came on board to help Mel get the business up and running in record time.

The idea was dreamt up on 28th March 2020, after which the website went live on 3rd April, 2020. The concept quickly spread to all states of Australia and then by October, 2020 had operations in California, New Jersey, Las Vegas, New York and Virginia USA.

I Do Drive Thru offers it’s couples a wedding experience like no other with unique photos to match. The team are partnered with wedding photographer to capture all the fun of these intimate gatherings and are thrilled to be able to support wedding businesses when so many large-scale weddings have been cancelled or postponed.

“Since our world took a really strange turn with the introduction of COVID, the wedding industry and all its clients have suffered a massive shake up to their plans. A need has arisen to offer legal weddings with personality, whilst maintaining a high level of fabulousness. I do Drive Thru answers that need.” Mel Jacob, Founder.

“In the end, love always wins – it will always find a way. I Do Drive Thru is just what’s needed at this strange time. It’s unique, fun and well-timed.” said Kate Morgan, Founder.

In a recent study published in Marie Claire, the average Australian wedding costs $53,158. The I Do Drive Thru’s packages start from only $400.
