ELOPE IN A PARK
Elope in a garden or park, out in the open!
Elope in the Park
Nature as your venue. No booking fee. Just the light, the air, and each other.
The most beautiful ceremony locations in America are not ballrooms or hotel function rooms. They are a cast-iron bridge over a lake in Central Park at sunrise. A sea-stack beach in Malibu at golden hour. A misty waterfall in the Shenandoah mountains. A desert canyon where the light turns everything red and gold. And most of them are completely free. Your officiant meets you there — and within seven minutes, you are married in one of the most extraordinary places you have ever stood.
Our Favourite Outdoor Ceremony Spots
Across all five of our US locations, here are the outdoor spots we come back to again and again — and why.
New York City
The most requested NYC elopement spot in the world. The cast-iron bridge over The Lake with the Manhattan skyline in the distance. Arrive before 7am for complete solitude. The light in early morning is extraordinary.
Unobstructed Lower Manhattan skyline from the Brooklyn waterfront. Sunrise here is one of the most beautiful sights in New York. Multiple spots across 85 acres — we know exactly where to stand.
Los Angeles
El Matador, Zuma, Point Dume — Malibu's beaches are extraordinary at any time of day but golden hour turns them otherworldly. California has no waiting period so you can get your licence and be here the same afternoon.
The trails around Griffith Observatory with the entire LA basin below you. Arrive before 8am on a weekday and it is almost entirely yours. One of the most cinematically beautiful ceremony locations in California.
Las Vegas · Virginia · New Jersey
Ancient red sandstone formations 17 miles from the Strip. The silence, the scale, the light — completely unlike anything in the city. No waiting period means you can arrive in Vegas and be married here the same day.
Dark Hollow Falls, Overall Run — the sound of water, ancient forest, complete wilderness. Some of the most extraordinary outdoor elopement photography we have ever been part of happens here.
Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on the location. In Central Park, groups under 20 people need no permit for most spots — a $25 Conservancy permit is needed only for reserved specific locations. In Shenandoah, groups under 15 need no permit. In Griffith Park and most LA public parks, small informal ceremonies are generally permit-free. The Blue Ridge Parkway requires a $100 permit. We advise on every location when you book.
We always discuss a weather backup plan when you book. Most of our couples have a covered alternative nearby — a bridged area, a roofed pavilion, or simply their hotel lobby or room. Ceremonies take 2–7 minutes so a light shower is often manageable. Some of our favourite photos have come from overcast misty days — the light is extraordinary.
Golden hour — the hour after sunrise and the hour before sunset — gives the most extraordinary photography light and the fewest crowds at most locations. For Central Park and popular NYC spots, early morning weekdays are ideal. For Virginia mountain locations, spring and autumn mornings are spectacular. We advise on timing for your specific location when you book.
Absolutely — that is genuinely our favourite part. If you have a specific spot in mind, tell us and we will make it work. We have officiated ceremonies at locations most couples would never think of, and every single one has been exactly right for that couple.
