This is where it all started. The original I Do Drive Thru concept — an officiant who comes to your car, wherever you are. Pull up to a lookout with the whole city below you. Park at a drive-in theatre. Roll into a Dunkin' drive-thru. The ceremony takes seven minutes, the paperwork gets signed through the window, and you drive away as a married couple. There is nothing else quite like it in the world.

In February 2021, I Do Drive Thru USA officiants legally married Selena and Brian at a Dunkin' drive-thru in Middletown, New York — winners of Dunkin's "Marriage is On the Menu" contest. Brian said "I Dunkin' do." It was covered by news outlets across the country. It was completely legally binding. And yes, there was a donut bouquet. This is who we are.
The Best Places to Get Married in a Car
Any place you can drive to and park, we can marry you there. Here are our favourites — chosen specifically for how they look and feel from inside a car with the windows down.
Griffith Observatory car park in LA. A parking lookout above the Vegas Strip. The Alpine Lookout in New Jersey with Manhattan in the distance. Libby Hill Park in Richmond. You stay in the car, your officiant comes to the window, and you say your vows with the city spread out below you.
Pull into your spot, roll the windows down, and get married at a drive-in theatre — either before the film starts or during intermission. Vegas has drive-ins. So does Virginia. One of our all-time favourite ceremony settings.
Hail a classic yellow cab, tell the driver what is happening, and have your officiant pull up alongside you at a red light or a kerb. It is chaotic, romantic, and completely New York. The story you will tell forever.
The place where you had your first date. The coffee shop you both go to every morning. Your favourite burger spot. If it has a drive-thru window and you can get permission, we will be there. We literally married a couple at a Dunkin' window. We are completely serious.

Yes — completely. There is no requirement in any of our US states for a ceremony to take place in a specific type of location. As long as a registered officiant performs the ceremony and the licence is correctly signed and filed, the marriage is fully legal regardless of whether you were in a car, a park, a restaurant, or a Dunkin' drive-thru.
Entirely up to you. Some couples love the full in-car experience — windows down, officiant at the window, paperwork passed through. Others prefer to park at a lookout and stand outside the car for the ceremony with the car as the backdrop. Both work perfectly. Tell us your vision and we will make it happen.

For drive-through windows at specific businesses, you may need permission from the business in advance — we can help you think through the logistics. We have done some creative and unusual requests over the years and said yes to almost all of them.
