The Elopement Company That Married a Couple at Dunkin' β and Appeared on Good Morning America
Most elopement companies will tell you they can get you married at Central Park or Malibu beach. That is true for us too. But we are probably the only elopement company in America that has also officiated a wedding at a Dunkin' Donuts drive-thru window β live, legally binding, and with a donut bouquet β and then appeared on Good Morning America.
This is the story of I Do Drive Thru USA. Who we are, what we do, where we operate, and why thousands of couples have chosen us to officiate the most important moment of their lives.
The Day We Officiated a Wedding at a Dunkin' Drive-Thru
In February 2021, Dunkin' ran a contest called "Marriage is On the Menu" β inviting New York couples to win a free wedding ceremony at a Dunkin' drive-thru. The winners were Selena and Brian, two New York essential workers who had fallen in love over early morning coffee runs during one of the most uncertain years any of us can remember.
Dunkin' chose I Do Drive Thru USA to officiate the ceremony at a Dunkin' location in Middletown, New York. Selena had a donut bouquet. Brian had a munchkin boutonniere. The officiant asked if Brian promised to love and cherish Selena through life's joys and sorrows β and Brian responded, with Selena squealing with laughter: "I Dunkin' do."
The story was covered by news outlets across the country. The ceremony cost the couple nothing and was completely legally binding. It was, by any measure, one of the greatest weddings ever held in the greater Middletown, New York area.
"Ya know, different is better. Yeah, getting married in a drive-thru!" β Brian Dinsmore, groom, Dunkin' drive-thru wedding, Middletown NY, February 2021
That wedding captures something essential about who we are. We do not believe that getting married needs to be expensive, formal, or stressful. We believe it can happen anywhere β a drive-thru, a mountaintop, a yellow cab, a living room, a beach at sunrise, a tiny timber chapel in Richmond, Virginia β and that the location does not make it any less real or any less meaningful.
As Seen on Good Morning America
Our tiny non-denominational timber chapel in Hanover County, Richmond, Virginia β the Chapel O' Love β received national attention including a feature on Good Morning America. The chapel seats around ten people, fits up to your closest family and friends, and has been the setting for some of the most intimate and genuinely moving ceremonies we have ever been part of.
It is exactly what a lot of couples are looking for β a real space, a real ceremony, a real moment β without the $47,000 average price tag of a traditional American wedding. The chapel is available seven days a week. Our Virginia officiants are fully registered and authorised under Virginia law. And yes, you can get married there the same day you get your Virginia marriage licence, because Virginia has no waiting period.
We have also been featured in Time Out New York, Together Journal, and covered across national media in both Australia and the United States since our launch in 2020.
Who We Are
I Do Drive Thru started in Australia in 2020 β born in the middle of a pandemic, out of a belief that getting married should never have to wait for the world to calm down, and should never cost more than it needs to. We launched in Melbourne with a team of celebrants and a very simple idea: show up where the couple is, make it legal, make it memorable, and get out of the way so they can enjoy being married.
We expanded to the USA the same year. We now operate across New York City, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Las Vegas, Virginia, and New Jersey β with registered officiants and photographers in every location, available any day of the week.
We have helped over 2,000 couples get married across Australia and the USA. We have officiated ceremonies at Central Park at sunrise, on Malibu beach at golden hour, in Las Vegas hotel suites at midnight, in the Shenandoah mountains, in backyards and living rooms and parks and restaurants. And yes β at a Dunkin' drive-thru window in upstate New York.

International Couples β We Were Built for You
I Do Drive Thru USA is an Australian company operating in the United States. That means we genuinely understand what it means to plan a wedding in a country that is not your own β the paperwork, the licence process, the apostille for international recognition, the timing around a trip.
Every year we help Australian, British, European, and international couples get legally married in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Virginia. No US citizenship or residency required in any of our locations. A valid passport is all the ID you need. And a New York, California, Nevada, or Virginia marriage is recognised in Australia under the Marriage Act 1961, in the UK, Canada, Europe, and most countries worldwide.
We guide every international couple through the exact steps for their state β where to go, what to bring, how long it takes, and how to get an apostille if they need one. We have done this hundreds of times. You will not be Googling anything at 11pm the night before wondering if you have done it right.
Love Always Wins
We are proud advocates for people of all cultures, races, genders, religions, orientations, and political parties. LGBTQ+ weddings celebrated with complete enthusiasm β including, if you want, by a spectacular drag queen. We have officiated same-sex ceremonies, non-binary ceremonies, multicultural ceremonies, interfaith ceremonies, and ceremonies with guests who spoke six different languages.
We are huge fans of football fans and Gucci lovers. Road trippers and five-star hotel guests. People who want to get married at 6am in Central Park before anyone else arrives, and people who want to say their vows at a Dunkin' drive-thru with a donut bouquet while the line of cars waits behind them.
No judgements. Ever. Just support. And a really, really good day.
